Design and build a model / representation of a neuron. Include details of the neuron and the synaptic transmission. Label the main parts of your model. Present your model neuron to the class. This is a small group (2-3 students per group) project. Project is due at the end of your class period on December 18th or 19th. Work on creating your model and papers is to be completed in class. Two papers will accompany your project. Type papers in standard APA format – 1 inch margins, size 12 Times New Roman font, double spaced. A. Respond to the following questions. Use complete sentences in paragraph format.
B. Report on your neurotransmitter. Provide details that include functions and malfunctions, influence on behavior, influence of drugs and other chemicals, and research. Neurotransmitters: Acetylcholine, dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine, epinephrine, GABA, glutamate and endorphins. Project will be worth 50 points. IB/ BHS/ SA Ms. Romaine Project – 2nd Quarter The project for this quarter will be a 'hands-on" project that will challenge your creativity. It will involve an application of key terms from this course in a venue of your choice (exception - no PowerPoint presentations please). The terms that you include with your project can be terms from Weiten text: Chapter 5 – States of Consciousness Chapter 6 - Learning Each project should include a minimum of seven psychology key terms. You may work independently or with one other student in your same class period for this project. If you decide to work with a partner, you will need to apply a minimum of twelve terms. Depending on the nature of your project, you may need to include a written handout that lists the key terms used. Some examples of venues that you could choose for this project are:
